About the Role

Accor is seeking a Commis II Pastry to join the culinary team at Raffles & Fairmont The Red Sea. This full-time position is ideal for individuals with 0-1 years of experience in a pastry or kitchen environment. The role involves assisting senior culinary colleagues in the daily operations of the Pastry section, focusing on the production of high-quality pastry and bakery items while adhering to established standards.

The property features 361 rooms, eleven distinct dining concepts—including an overwater restaurant with views of the Red Sea and mangroves—and a dedicated Spa. The resort is positioned next to an 18-hole championship golf course and is committed to setting new standards in sustainable development along 200km of untouched coastline, an archipelago of over 90 unspoiled islands, dormant volcanoes, rich marine habitats, and ancient archaeological sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Pastry Chef and Sous Chef in ensuring the smooth and efficient daily operation of the Pastry section.
• Participate in pastry and bakery production activities, maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation.
• Follow established production procedures, recipes, and instructions provided by supervisors.
• Prepare pastry products, baked goods, desserts, and other items as required by the operation, ensuring adherence to quality, hygiene, and presentation standards.
• Maintain proper handling and use of pastry equipment to prevent loss, damage, and unnecessary waste.
• Keep the Pastry section and work environment clean, organized, and orderly at all times.
• Support the Pastry section during high-volume periods and busy service operations.
• Report any major complaints, quality concerns, equipment problems, or operational issues to the Executive Pastry Chef or Sous Chef.
• Perform any other duties, special tasks, or responsibilities assigned by culinary management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Previous experience in a pastry, bakery, or kitchen environment is preferred (0-1 years).
• Basic knowledge of pastry and bakery production techniques.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation, hygiene, sanitation, and food safety principles.
• Ability to accurately follow recipes, instructions, and established production procedures.
• Ability to safely operate basic pastry and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a high-volume environment.
• Culinary, pastry, or bakery training is preferred.
• Previous experience in a luxury hotel or resort environment is preferred.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.
