The Engineering Manager Role

Mozn is seeking a full-time Engineering Manager to lead a dedicated team of engineers. This role is central to building and scaling Focal, with a focus on innovation, reliability, and delivering impactful solutions for customers. Candidates should possess over 10 years of experience in software engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of engineers in the design, development, and maintenance of product features.
• Ensure code and design quality adhere to industry best practices and high standards.
• Coach and mentor team members on high-level design, architecture, effort sizing, and testing practices.
• Provide engineers with feedback on their day-to-day job performance.
• Steer engineers’ individual learning and development plans.
• Initiate hiring processes and allocate necessary resources to support the team.
• Remove impediments or guide the team in resolving them.
• Oversee the implementation of the software development process.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree from a recognized institution in Computer Science or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of software engineering experience, with a preference for experience in SaaS or large-scale distributed applications.
• Demonstrated previous team leadership experience.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to convey technical solutions effectively to both end-users and the engineering team.
• Ability to clearly explain complex issues within systems and processes.

Technical Expertise

• Solid experience with multiple programming languages, coupled with a drive to learn and advance technical skills.
• Proficient understanding of system design and distributed computing principles.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including HBase, Cassandra, and MongoDB.
• Solid understanding of the Scrum agile framework and other software development processes.
