Explorer Team Leader

About the Role

Rosewood AMAALA is seeking an Explorer Team Leader to support the Explorer Manager in the daily operation and supervision of the Explorers Kids Club and children’s activity programming in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role ensures that all activities are delivered safely, professionally, and in line with Rosewood’s A Sense of Place® philosophy and Forbes / LQA standards. The Explorer Team Leader acts as the on-the-floor leader, guiding Explorer Agents, maintaining service quality, ensuring child safety compliance, and delivering engaging, age-appropriate experiences for children and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Explorer Manager in supervising, guiding, and motivating the Explorers team to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
• Act as the shift leader in the absence of the Explorer Manager, ensuring smooth daily operations and assisting with task allocation and activity assignments.
• Provide on-the-job coaching and support to Explorer Agents, ensuring adherence to SOPs, safety standards, and service expectations.
• Oversee the smooth execution of daily Kids Club operations, including correct check-in/check-out procedures and maintaining appropriate child-to-staff ratios.
• Actively engage with children, parents, and guardians, addressing inquiries professionally and delivering personalized service.
• Lead and actively participate in age-appropriate activities such as arts & crafts, games, storytelling, sports, and educational workshops.
• Support the implementation of culturally inspired programs reflecting AMAALA, the Red Sea environment, wellness, sustainability, and local heritage.
• Ensure strict adherence to all child-safety policies, hygiene standards, and emergency procedures, monitoring team compliance with child-protection guidelines.
• Maintain accurate record-keeping of attendance, consent forms, allergies, incidents, and accident reports, escalating concerns as required.
• Conduct routine safety checks of activity areas, toys, and equipment.
• Monitor daily use and condition of toys, games, and craft supplies, reporting shortages or damages.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma required; childcare, education, hospitality, or supervisory certifications preferred.
• 0-1 years of relevant experience.
• Good knowledge of luxury hospitality service standards.
• Ability to complete reports, schedules, and checklists.
• Comfortable using hotel systems and basic office software.
• Strong problem-solving and conflict-handling skills.

Confidentiality and Health & Safety

This role requires access to confidential information concerning guests, children, associates, and company operations, which must remain strictly confidential. The successful candidate must comply with all Health & Safety regulations applicable to the workplace, ensure safe working practices are followed by all team members during assigned shifts, and report hazards, defects, or incidents immediately according to hotel procedures. Familiarity with COSHH Regulations, Departmental Risk Assessments, and Hotel Fire & Bomb Procedures is essential.
