Internal Audit Manager

About the Role

Mayar Foods is seeking an Internal Audit Manager to establish and lead the company's Internal Audit function. This full-time role, based in the Eastern Region, Saudi Arabia, provides independent assurance and strategic advice to enhance governance, risk management, and internal controls. The manager will develop and execute a risk-based annual audit plan aligned with the company's strategy and IIA Standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide an independent opinion on the effectiveness of Corporate Governance, Risk Management, and Internal Control systems across the Company and its subsidiaries.
• Design and implement the Internal Audit framework, policies, procedures, and reporting protocols, ensuring alignment with Group Internal Audit and Audit & Risk Committee (ARC) expectations.
• Develop and obtain approval for a risk-based annual audit plan, ensuring timely and high-quality completion of planned audit engagements.
• Prepare and present periodic reports to the ARC on audit outcomes, key risk trends, and emerging issues.
• Assign audits to team members, manage activity schedules, and ensure full resource utilization.
• Ensure clear communication of audit findings and recommendations, and track management action plans to timely completion.
• Leverage data and data analytics tools to identify trends and potential areas of risk or improvement.
• Develop a deep understanding of the business, its key drivers, and the overall risk environment.
• Work closely with the Risk Management Department to ensure alignment between risk assessment, mitigation, and audit activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the ARC, providing balanced assurance and meaningful risk insights.
• Liaise with Al Muhaidib Group Internal Audit, external auditors, and other assurance providers to ensure a coordinated assurance approach.
• Establish and manage a high-performing internal audit team, providing leadership, coaching, and mentoring.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree.
• Certification: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
• Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of experience in handling audits in the GCC.
• Language: Proficiency in written and verbal Arabic and English.

Desirable Attributes

• Professional Certifications such as CA/CPA/ACCA/CISA.

Team Leadership

The Internal Audit Manager is responsible for building, leading, and developing the audit team. This includes defining clear roles and responsibilities, managing performance, and fostering professional growth in line with IIA standards. The role involves overseeing hiring, learning, career development, and addressing professional concerns for department employees.

Stakeholder Engagement

This role requires strong stakeholder management, including regular engagement with senior leaders to understand business needs and perspectives. The manager will communicate effectively, demonstrating strategic insight and professional credibility, and foster trust-based relationships to encourage collaboration and shared accountability across the organization and its subsidiaries.
