The Role of Material Handler

The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within a manufacturing and warehouse environment. This full-time position involves operating forklifts and other equipment to support continuous production operations. Key aspects of the role include material staging, maintaining inventory accuracy, and executing shipping and receiving activities, all while adhering to safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport materials to and from loading docks, storage areas, production lines, and delivery vehicles using manual methods or material handling equipment.
• Follow written and verbal instructions to complete daily warehouse and material handling tasks efficiently.
• Receive, sort, mark, and stock cargo in designated locations, ensuring accurate tracking and documentation of all materials handled.
• Operate equipment such as sit-down forklifts, order pickers, tow motors, pallet jacks, and assistive devices to safely move or lift heavy items.
• Stage products for shipping, receiving, and lineside operations, preparing materials for transport and production needs.
• Perform quality inspections of incoming materials, maintain accurate inventory records, and cross-check shipping documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, adhering to company safety standards and general housekeeping practices.
• Work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating initiative, adaptability, and effective problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience required: 0-1 years in a relevant field.
• Ability to operate various material handling equipment, including forklifts.
• Familiarity with inventory accuracy and shipping/receiving processes.
• Understanding of safety and operational standards within a manufacturing and warehouse setting.
