About the Role

Saudi Aramco is seeking an Occupational Health Consultant to join the Health Protection Division within the Environmental Protection Department. This full-time role involves developing and managing health protection programs to assess the company's performance in resolving health deficiencies across its facilities. The consultant will play a key role in setting occupational health standards and providing advisory services.

Role Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Occupational Health Consultant include:

  • Implementing and overseeing health surveillance processes.
  • Evaluating job fitness and compatibility with job demands, conducting periodic physicals for managing preventable occupational conditions, and performing medical retirement assessments.
  • Providing occupational health consultations for new company projects and processes to minimize health hazards.
  • Contributing to existing and new occupational health programs and initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders to mitigate occupational health risks.
  • Overseeing and assessing third-party medical providers for quality assurance of occupational health assessments.
  • Developing and implementing Contractor Fitness to Work standards, including compliance tracking and reporting.
  • Supporting the standardization and monitoring of Contractor Medical Emergency Response Planning.
  • Organizing and implementing Pre-employment/Periodic medical evaluations for contractors.
  • Developing a Cardiac risk factor screening program for high-risk contractor cases.
  • Conducting periodic field surveys to detect and evaluate occupational health risks.
  • Engaging with external consultants and providing subject matter expertise.
  • Utilizing and developing skills in occupational health technology, automation, and digitalization.
  • Serving as a corporate consultant on technical advances in the prevention of occupationally related diseases.
  • Supporting persons with disabilities at work in collaboration with relevant organizations.
  • Initiating and reviewing studies and research in occupational health/medicine.
  • Participating in innovation, patent filing, publications, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
  • Participating in occupational illness investigation, determination, and classification.
  • Analyzing and interpreting statistical data for the evaluation of occupational health programs.
  • Collecting and analyzing data on occupational illnesses for reporting purposes.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health/Medicine from a recognized and approved program is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience, with at least five years of full-time practice in occupational health/medicine.
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to write scientific reports, preferably demonstrated by published articles in international and peer-reviewed journals.
  • General knowledge of oil industry processes, workmen's compensation, computerized registries, and information systems.
