CONSULTANT OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE

About the Role

The Royal Commission Medical Center in Yanbu is seeking a Consultant in Occupational Medicine. This full-time position requires a Saudi national with a valid SCFHS classification and registration. The successful candidate will contribute to both curative and preventive aspects of patient care within the medical center.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to internal policies, procedures, and medical staff bylaws.
• Attend scheduled hospital committees and scientific meetings with healthcare providers.
• Assist the Chief of Area Ambulatory Medical Services in planning integrated curative and preventive patient care programs.
• Manage approved curative-preventive programs specific to occupational medicine.
• Communicate administrative directives effectively and encourage interactive departmental discussions.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures for department operations, fire safety, and infection control.
• Resolve personnel concerns at the medical director level, utilizing the grievance process as needed.
• Conduct annual reviews and perform departmental in-services.
• Maintain medical standards in the assigned service to meet Joint Commission on Hospital Accreditation requirements.
• Plan clinic operations and patient scheduling to meet population needs, coordinating with physicians and nurses regarding workload and disease categories.
• Coordinate with specialists on referral methods and procedures, in conjunction with the department head.
• Direct the utilization of professional personnel to manage fluctuating workloads in clinics/departments.
• Discuss complex medical cases with physicians, determining when referrals to the Chief of Area Ambulatory Medical Services are warranted, or handle referred cases with conflicting medical opinions.
• Assist in establishing clinic policies, procedures, and systems by identifying areas needing coverage, addressing bottlenecks in patient handling, and resolving organizational or methods problems.
• Perform general practice duties as required by workload, including relieving clinic physicians during emergencies or absences.
• Participate in resident training programs under the supervision of the residency program director.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Saudi Nationality.
• Valid SCFHS classification and registration.
• Doctor of Medicine degree from a recognized medical school.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical practice.
• Saudi Board certificate or equivalent.

Experience

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in the medical field.
