About the Role

Al Futtaim Group is seeking a Planning Manager - MEP for Al Futtaim Engineering and Al Futtaim Contracting. This full-time role involves developing, monitoring, and controlling project programs, including baseline schedules, progress reports, and project control activities. The Planning Manager will ensure timely and cost-effective project completion by aligning with contract requirements and the main contract program.

Role Overview

The Planning Manager is responsible for comprehensive project planning and control, covering quantities, cost tracking, and Earned Value Management (EVM). A key aspect of this role includes preparing Extension of Time (EOT) claims, supported by detailed records, documentation, and contractual substantiation, to mitigate project risks and delays.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and secure approval for the MEP contract baseline program.
• Prepare engineering registers in accordance with the approved baseline program.
• Monitor engineering submission progress and identify schedule variances.
• Provide short-term look-ahead plans to engineering and project teams.
• Prepare and maintain procurement registers aligned with project schedules.
• Track procurement activities and identify potential delays or risks.
• Coordinate with vendors and specialist subcontractors to ensure timely project delivery.
• Monitor overall project progress against the baseline program.
• Update project schedules and prepare periodic progress reports.
• Conduct look-ahead planning and coordinate weekly progress meetings.
• Attend client and main contractor progress review meetings.
• Forecast manpower requirements based on project progress.
• Monitor labor productivity and highlight resource constraints.
• Develop detailed testing and commissioning (T&C) schedules.
• Plan commissioning logic and sequence to support successful project delivery.
• Identify variations and delay events impacting the project program.
• Prepare delay analyses, issue contractual delay notifications, and support Extension of Time (EOT) submissions.
• Ensure project planning activities comply with contractual obligations and project milestones.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in project planning and control, specifically within MEP projects.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage complex project schedules and programs.
• Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and cost tracking.
• Proficiency in preparing and substantiating Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
