About the Role

SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering is seeking a Risk Engineer to join their team. This full-time role involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational, technical, safety, and business risks across various projects and assets. The Risk Engineer will play a crucial part in ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable operations by recommending preventive measures and enhancing risk management practices.

Role Context and Collaboration

The Risk Engineer works closely with project, engineering, operations, and HSE teams. This collaborative approach is essential for minimizing potential losses and integrating robust risk management strategies throughout the organization. The role focuses on supporting the company's commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and operational integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments for projects, facilities, operations, and assets.
• Identify potential hazards, operational risks, and vulnerabilities impacting safety, reliability, costs, or schedules.
• Perform risk analyses using methodologies such as HAZOP, FMEA, Bow-Tie Analysis, and Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA).
• Evaluate engineering designs, processes, and procedures to ensure risk mitigation measures are incorporated.
• Develop and maintain risk registers and risk mitigation plans.
• Analyze incident reports, near misses, and failure data to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Support insurance risk surveys and liaise with insurers, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
• Review compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company risk management policies.
• Provide recommendations for improving asset integrity, process safety, and operational reliability.
• Prepare risk assessment reports and communicate findings to stakeholders and management.
• Participate in project reviews, design reviews, and safety studies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor emerging risks and industry best practices to enhance organizational risk management.

Experience and Qualifications

• Candidates should possess 0-1 year of relevant experience.
• A strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and tools is required.
• Ability to analyze complex data and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
