The Role of Senior Construction Manager

Mace Group is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead the delivery of a significant package of infrastructure, civil, and building works for a major entertainment and luxury hospitality project. This role involves taking ownership of a substantial construction portfolio, including central utility infrastructure, industrial process facilities, roads, civil works, and associated external works. The position requires a strong site presence, with approximately 70% of time dedicated to overseeing construction activities on site and 30% focused on planning, reporting, stakeholder management, and contractor coordination. This is a part-time, remote site-based opportunity operating on rotation with camp accommodation provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the construction delivery of civil, infrastructure, and building works.
• Manage contractor performance to ensure delivery against approved program, quality, and safety requirements.
• Drive construction progress across multiple work fronts while proactively mitigating delivery risks and constraints.
• Provide leadership and oversight for utility and infrastructure assets, including district cooling facilities, generator farms, water treatment facilities, sewage treatment infrastructure, fire water storage systems, pump stations, and associated networks.
• Manage roads, hardscape, landscape, and general civil works packages through all phases of construction.
• Coordinate interfaces between contractors, consultants, specialist suppliers, and client representatives.
• Review construction methodologies, sequencing plans, temporary works proposals, and recovery programs.
• Monitor construction progress, productivity, and resource deployment across all package contractors.
• Chair site coordination meetings, progress reviews, and technical workshops.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, and approved construction documentation.
• Support commercial teams with variation reviews, claims assessments, and change management processes.
• Champion a strong health, safety, and wellbeing culture across all construction activities.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE and quality standards.
• Support project reporting, governance requirements, and senior stakeholder updates.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree qualified in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
• 5-10 years of extensive experience delivering major civil, infrastructure, and building projects.
• Proven track record managing large-scale contractor-delivered construction packages.
• Strong experience across infrastructure works, including roads, utilities, treatment plants, pump stations, industrial facilities, and associated civil infrastructure.
• Previous experience working within a PMC, consultancy, or client-side environment.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, project controls, and program management.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary contractors within complex construction environments.
• Previous Middle East project experience on major programs, infrastructure developments, or giga-projects.
• Ability to meet necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and possess relevant work experience on high-value projects/programs for a project management consultancy business, as required for immigration and client approval.

Work Environment

This role operates within a PMC environment, requiring visible leadership across contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with program, quality, and commercial objectives. The position is site-based with camp accommodation provided.
