About the Role

Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp is seeking a Senior Customer Representative Companion Animals for a full-time position. This role focuses on building and maintaining strong, profitable relationships with companion animal customers, ensuring the achievement of sales objectives and maximizing market share for the company's Animal Health solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and achieve sales targets within the designated market.
• Manage sales and services for customers to increase the company's Animal Health wallet share, serving as the primary point of contact.
• Collaborate with customers to identify and anticipate needs, provide solutions, and co-create value.
• Interact with local marketing and technical services teams to implement programs and strategies effectively with key accounts.
• Educate customers on the company's Animal Health brands, identify account issues, and work with relevant personnel to resolve matters.
• Achieve or exceed qualitative and quantitative objectives.
• Provide monthly estimations and forecasts of product volumes for customers.
• Negotiate and secure mutually beneficial agreements that align company resources with customers' long-term business needs.
• Build effective working partnerships, positioning the company as a strategic partner.
• Inform the country lead of market trends or competitive initiatives impacting business with customers.
• Develop strategies to grow the company's Animal Health business with key ruminant customers in Western and Eastern regions, providing solutions to challenges.
• Ensure efficient spending that delivers a solid return on investment and supports long-term brand sustainability.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company's Animal Health brands, their values, and market positioning.

Customer Relationship Management

The role involves building mutually beneficial, profitable, and long-term relationships with Companion Animal (CA) customers. This includes skillful negotiation in challenging situations with both internal and external groups, aiming to secure concessions without compromising relationships.

Market Analysis and Strategy

The Senior Customer Representative will analyze customer and market data to identify opportunities that can be addressed by the company's Animal Health solutions. This also involves anticipating factors that could impact strategies, plans, and market positioning.

Performance and Resource Optimization

A key aspect of this position is understanding sales performance metrics and resource utilization to maximize the return on investment for the company's Animal Health division. The role also coordinates the integration and exchange of information between the company's Animal Health and CA accounts.
