Senior Estimation And Tendering Manager

About the Role

UrbaCon Contracting & Trading Company is seeking a Senior Estimation and Tendering Manager. This full-time role is responsible for developing strategic objectives and plans for estimation and tendering. The manager will focus on creating high-quality, winning proposals for both existing and potential clients, providing essential support during the pre-tender process.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the organization's estimating processes and activities to provide financial support for tenders and project reviews.
• Manage tendering processes to secure winning bids and project contracts.
• Prepare effective budgets to ensure profitability and business continuity.
• Provide leadership in construction cost estimates, engineering work valuation, and budget development.
• Establish and maintain procedures for estimating and tendering evaluation.
• Analyze tender documents to identify risk factors, ensure compliance with technical standards, and communicate with relevant departments for overall risk assessment and bid decisions.
• Review and finalize project cost estimates prepared by Estimation Engineers, covering material as per Bill of Quantities (BOQ), scope of work, and requirements for material, equipment, and manpower during the tendering phase.
• Lead in providing project clarifications and information to the Project Manager upon project award, advising on contractual rights and remedies considered during tendering.
• Lead, manage, and direct Estimation Managers and the Managing QS team to achieve successful bids and project contracts.
• Review CCS (Candy) for work estimates based on take-offs and productivity information prepared by the Estimation Manager.
• Review all Tender and Estimating documents, including Instructions to Tenderers, Contract Conditions, BOQ, Specifications, and Tender Drawings.
• Advise the Tender team on further procedures and deploy specific teams for individual tenders.

Required Experience and Skills

• Direct and manage the review and update of the scoping and estimating system to ensure accurate and timely estimates.
• Review Tender Appraisals, including scope of work, key dates, project details, commercial and contract conditions, insurance requirements, and competition lists.
• Guide Estimation Managers and Managing QS in preparing and distributing Subcontractor's "RFQ" letters and updating with tender bulletins and addenda.
• Finalize estimation of all direct and indirect costs and consolidate tender documents for management review and approval.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in estimation and tendering within the contracting industry. This role requires a professional who can assess risk factors, develop reliable cost estimates, and lead a team to achieve successful project bids.
