About the Role

Hitachi is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer for a full-time position. This role focuses on providing technical advice to customers, including the commissioning, installation, and testing of products and equipment. The Senior Field Service Engineer will identify and correct complex problems associated with start-up, and research, evaluate, and recommend new products or equipment upgrades to meet customer needs. The position requires 5-10 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively participate in site activities, including visiting customer sites for installation testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of Hitachi HV GIS, GCB, LTB, DTB, and other assigned equipment.
• Coordinate with the tools management department to manage HV tools, arrange, and properly use test equipment for site activities related to HV Products installation, testing, commissioning, protection, and control.
• Complete GIS Bay or GIS compartment assembly work, perform minor fabrications if required, troubleshoot and rectify HV product defects on-site, and advise on action plans for repairs at a Hitachi Energy factory or workshop.
• Learn and operate test equipment for HV product testing, commissioning, and maintenance. Learn procedures for special tools for HV product service jobs and share knowledge with colleagues.
• Collaborate with the Project Management team on various projects, ensuring full compliance with PM requirements and customer site regulations.
• Lead contractors or sub-contractors during job execution, coordinate with customers and back-office support for resource requirements, and obtain PAC or time sheets signed by the customer for invoicing.
• Prepare and provide site reports, activity plans, and resource requirements to the PM, line manager, or supervisor. Prepare method statements as required for customer sharing or contractual obligations.
• Adhere to company rules and regulations, maintain professional conduct, and report any safety or integrity incidents to the line manager, supervisor, or Project Manager.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly time sheets and expense reports in a timely manner, and prepare travel authorizations prior to travel for site deployment.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Experience Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience in field service engineering, specifically with commissioning, installing, and testing products/equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and correct complex technical problems.
• Experience with HV GIS, GCB, LTB, DTB, and other related equipment is preferred.
