About the Role

ABB is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to join its team in Dammam, Eastern region. This full-time position reports to the Service Manager - RMDR and involves providing specialized services for industrial customers. The role focuses on ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of ABB Motion's pioneering technology, products, and solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation and commissioning of new LV ABB Drives (*, ACS880, ACS580, ACS800, ACS550, ACSM1, DCS500, ACS350) for industrial projects, reporting work to customers, ABB installed base, and service managers.
• Service faulty ABB medium voltage and low voltage drives (*, ACS1000, ACS2000, ACS5000, ACS6000, ACS680, ACS8080, ACS580 MV), including ordering and replacing faulty parts (boards, IGBTs, Thyristors), and reporting warranty cases to the manufacturer.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on various ABB Drives (*, ACS1000, ACS2000, ACS6000, ACS500, ACS880, ACS800, ACS550) and MV Drives.
• Size and select LV & MV ABB drives and their options (software) based on customer machine and installation requirements, configuring them using ABB software (Drive window, Drive window light, Drive studio, Drive Size).
• Report customer satisfaction levels, claims, recommendations, and technical issues regarding ABB drives to BU management, contributing to product promotion and sales.
• Engineer system interfaces for drives upgrade, retrofitting projects, and new drive installations.
• Perform root cause analysis for customer failures.
• Test, commission, and troubleshoot Medium Voltage Variable Frequency Drives, with certification on ABB products such as ACS6000, ACS1000, ACS2000, ACS5000, ACS580 MV, and ACS6080.
• Troubleshoot ACS500 PLCs.
• Undertake additional tasks as assigned by management to fulfill job requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Certified as per ABB Motion Upskills on products including ACS1000, ACS2000, ACS5000, ACS6000, ACS6080, and ACS580 MV.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to travel to and work in remote sites for extended periods.
