Role Overview

AECOM is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its team. This full-time role focuses on structural design within water infrastructure projects. The position involves performing specific and moderate portions of broader assignments, demonstrating expertise in structural design for water systems and facilities, and contributing to projects that have a tangible impact globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform specific and moderate portions of broader structural engineering assignments related to water infrastructure.
• Gather and correlate hydraulic, structural, and water quality engineering data using established water industry procedures.
• Execute detailed or routine structural engineering assignments, including calculations, testing, and analysis specific to water treatment facilities, distribution systems, and other water infrastructure projects.
• Propose solutions for new problems encountered in water engineering by modifying standard water industry procedures or applying methods from previous assignments.
• Identify discrepancies in structural analysis results and water system performance data.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to entry-level engineers in water infrastructure design and analysis.
• Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budgets and schedules with minimal supervision, adhering to water industry standards and regulations.
• Independently complete all tasks necessary for primary structural design elements for water infrastructure works, including treatment plants, pumping stations, and conveyance systems.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a professional water engineering position, with a focus on structural design.
• Demonstrated expertise in structural design for water systems and facilities.
• Proficiency in gathering and correlating hydraulic, structural, and water quality engineering data.
• Ability to perform detailed structural assignments, including calculations, testing, and analysis.
• Experience in identifying and resolving discrepancies in structural analysis results and performance data.
