Shop supervisor

About the Role

SRG is seeking a Shop Supervisor to lead a team of technicians and operators within Napesco. This full-time role is central to coordinating daily production activities, ensuring equipment readiness, and upholding safety standards. The Shop Supervisor will provide technical guidance to meet manufacturing targets with precision and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and direct shop floor technicians and operators to ensure workflow aligns with the production schedule.
• Assign daily work orders to staff based on their skills and available machine capacity.
• Conduct periodic inspections during manufacturing to ensure compliance with engineering drawings.
• Ensure all workers wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and strictly adhere to occupational safety protocols.
• Monitor preventive maintenance programs for machines to ensure readiness and minimize downtime.
• Ensure raw materials and tools are available before starting production to avoid interruptions.
• Provide hands-on technical support to technicians when facing manufacturing or programming challenges.
• Monitor labor hours and actual productivity against the planned time for each component.
• Train new technicians and support their skill development in machine operation and measurement tools.
• Submit daily reports to the Shop Manager regarding production status, breakdowns, and operational hurdles.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical field is required.
• Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in a related role.

Work Environment

The Shop Supervisor will work within a manufacturing environment, overseeing a team and ensuring operational efficiency and safety. This role requires active involvement on the shop floor and collaboration with various teams to achieve production goals.
