About Lucid Motors Middle East

Lucid Motors is dedicated to creating mobility experiences through innovation in the automotive sector. The company's vehicles are built on proprietary technology and a software-defined architecture, emphasizing a "Compromise Nothing™" approach that integrates performance, sustainability, design, and engineering. Lucid achieves this through deep vertical integration, with design, engineering, and production managed in-house across global facilities.

Role Overview: Supervisor Production DU

Lucid Motors Middle East is seeking a Production Supervisor, Drive Unit, for an internship position in Saudi Arabia. This role involves leading a front-line production team responsible for Electric Drive Unit assembly operations at AMP-2. The supervisor will participate in first-build events during facility startup, establish standardized work procedures, and develop a skilled team of Saudi national precision assemblers. The position requires 5-10 years of experience and focuses on managing shift-level Safety, Quality, Delivery, and People metrics for a specific section of the Drive Unit assembly line.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily production execution for an assigned Drive Unit line section, including rotor/stator, gearbox, HV wiring, or EOL test.
  • Monitor cycle time, takt, OEE, FPY, and hourly build rate in real time, escalating deviations promptly.
  • Conduct structured start-of-shift briefings and end-of-shift handovers, including written reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Standardized Work Instructions (SWI) and discipline at all stations.
  • Collaborate with various departments such as Production, Quality, Maintenance, Automation/Robotics, Manufacturing Engineering, EHS, IT/OT, MES, Supply Chain, Product Engineering, and suppliers to achieve operational goals.

Safety and Quality Assurance

  • Enforce High Voltage (HV) Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), HVIL continuity checks, and mandatory HV Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at HV connector and EOL test stations.
  • Ensure calibrated torque tooling management, angle-torque verification, and critical fastener traceability.
  • Manage HV emergency isolation response during EOL testing and maintain zero tolerance for HV or precision assembly protocol compromise.
  • Own shift EHS responsibilities, including safety walks, near-miss reporting, and emergency response for HV incidents.
  • Conduct process confirmation walks at all critical-to-quality hold points in the Drive Unit build sequence.
  • Manage non-conforming Drive Unit assemblies and maintain MES traceability for all serial-numbered components.
  • Lead shift-level Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Quality Review (QR) / Quality Control (QC) for quality escapes.

Operational Excellence and Team Development

  • Deploy Autonomous Maintenance Levels 1–3 with the team, driving centerline management and operator equipment care.
  • Monitor equipment Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), downtime, and breakdown trends, escalating chronic losses.
  • Lead 5S initiatives, standard work improvements, and Kaizen events on shift.
  • Support pre-production, first-off-tool, and Safe Launch events on shift.
  • Execute Layered Process Audits and Process Confirmation walks, escalating deviations via QR / QC.
  • Support run-at-rate and capacity verification events, driving corrective actions to closure.
  • Translate the production plan into labor deployment by certified station, manage attendance, and maintain contingency coverage for critical operations.
  • Lead tier meeting SPEQDC routines, escalation ownership, structured handover, visual management, and recovery to plan across rotor, stator, inverter, e-motor, and EOL areas.
  • Manage shift containment, stop-call-fix discipline, suspect material control, rework authorization routing, and documented release criteria.
  • Manage employee relations, coaching, performance feedback, and succession in alignment with policy and regulations in KSA.
  • Actively develop Saudi national operators and team leaders, building skills matrices and On-the-Job Training (OJT) plans.

Launch Governance and Change Control

  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)/Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, equipment acceptance, Safe Launch, run-at-rate, and capacity verification with objective evidence and disciplined punch-list closure.
  • Control production, process, software, and test changes through documented risk assessment, approvals, validation, revision history, and rollback or containment planning.
  • Participate in readiness reviews, Layered Process Audits, and Process Confirmation, closing assigned actions.
