About the Role

SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering is seeking a Surveyor to join their team. This full-time role involves carrying out all surveying activities related to bridge and infrastructure construction works on various projects. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in a similar capacity, providing accurate site measurements, setting out works, and verifying construction alignment and levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive survey support to construction, engineering, and quality teams.
• Monitor construction tolerances and ensure strict compliance with approved design requirements.
• Assist in resolving field measurement discrepancies and coordinate effectively with design and site teams.
• Prepare and validate as-built surveys for all completed construction works.
• Support progress measurement and quantity verification activities to ensure accuracy.

Surveying Duties

• Perform site surveys, establish control points, and execute setting out for bridge and infrastructure works.
• Conduct horizontal and vertical alignment checks for bridges, roads, retaining walls, culverts, and associated structures.
• Set out foundations, pile locations, abutments, piers, bridge decks, utility corridors, and roadway elements.
• Verify coordinates, levels, dimensions, and structural positioning both before and during construction activities.
• Ensure survey control networks are consistently maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

Quality and Compliance

• Ensure all surveying activities comply with project specifications, client requirements, and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate survey records, reports, and comprehensive documentation.
• Verify contractor survey submissions and provide technical recommendations as necessary.
• Support quality inspections and audits related to all survey activities.

Technology and Data Management

• Operate and maintain various survey equipment, including Total Stations, GPS/GNSS Systems, Digital Levels, and Laser Scanners (where applicable).
• Process field survey data and produce detailed survey reports, drawings, and coordinate files.
• Utilize survey software and CAD platforms for data analysis and comprehensive reporting.
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all survey information generated on site.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance

• Adhere to all project HSE requirements and established safe working practices.
• Participate actively in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and project safety initiatives.
• Ensure surveying operations are conducted safely within active construction environments.
