Technician Communications

About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Part-time Technician-Communications in Medina. This role involves planning and coordinating information technology-related equipment installations, system enhancements, and resolving technical issues to ensure optimal reliability and performance. The technician will be responsible for maintaining various technology devices and systems within the property.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate installations, moves, additions, changes, and system enhancements for IT-related equipment to improve reliability and performance.
• Operate computer and peripheral equipment by entering commands and activating controls.
• Resolve non-routine problems related to hardware, software, and guest room internet access.
• Analyze, recommend, and implement process improvements for technology operations.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of technology devices.
• Manage PBX/telephone switchboard systems and associated hardware.
• Ensure computer and telephone rooms are locked at all times, with access restricted via an interrogated key system.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, report accidents and unsafe conditions, and complete required safety training.
• Maintain a professional appearance, protect company assets, and ensure confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Welcome guests according to company standards, anticipate service needs, and communicate professionally.
• Support team goals, develop positive working relationships, and respond appropriately to employee concerns.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and identify ways to increase efficiency, productivity, and safety.
• Perform visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machines.
• Handle objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
• Enter and locate information using computers and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
• Execute other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: No high school diploma or * equivalent is required.
• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of related work experience is preferred.
• Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience is required for this position.
• Licenses/Certifications: No specific licenses or certifications are required.

This is a part-time position based in Medina, focusing on maintaining communication and IT infrastructure within a hospitality setting. The role requires adherence to strict safety and security protocols, including maintaining secure access to sensitive equipment areas.
