TPE V / Mineral Processing & Tailings SME

About the Role

Wood is seeking a TPE V / Mineral Processing & Tailings SME to serve as the Technical Authority across its portfolio of energy, oil & gas, mining, industrial, and infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position requiring over 10 years of experience.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to provide technical authority for mineral processing plants. This includes key minerals involved in the Energy Transition, such as Lithium, Bromine, Magnesium, Graphite, and Rare Earths, as well as base metals like Copper and Gold.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the focal point and Technical Authority across multiple minerals processing projects.
• Lead technical reviews during Concept, Pre-FEED, FEED, and Detailed Design phases.
• Perform independent design assurance and peer reviews.
• Resolve complex engineering challenges and provide specialist guidance.
• Communicate process requirements effectively to other members of study, project, or proposal teams.
• Support proposals, client workshops, and business development initiatives.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of technical capabilities within the team.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards and best practices.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A recognized industry expert with a proven track record of solving complex engineering challenges.
• Demonstrated ability to influence clients and drive technical excellence across major international projects.
• In-depth technical knowledge of process plant development, design, and operation within the minerals and metals industry.
• Extensive technical knowledge of the hydrometallurgical processing of commodities such as gold, base metals, uranium, rare earth elements, and battery-grade metals.
• Comprehensive technical knowledge of process design and engineering for hydrometallurgical unit operations, including leaching, precipitation, solvent extraction, ion exchange, and electrowinning.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

Work Environment

This role is based in Saudi Arabia and operates within a full-time work arrangement, contributing to a diverse portfolio of projects.
