Zakat and Tax Senior Associate

About the Role

Waleed Yousef Alzayyad Certified Public Accountants (HLB WYZ) is seeking a Zakat and Tax - Senior Associate to join their team. This full-time position involves managing the execution of tax engagements and contributing to client relationships and team development. The role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage the field execution of medium-complexity engagements or multiple smaller engagements concurrently, taking ownership of the fieldwork timeline.
• Review the majority of the team's working papers to ensure compliance with methodology, sufficiency of evidence, and clarity of conclusions before Manager review.
• Address complex or judgmental technical areas directly, including drafting technical memos and consulting the Manager on borderline issues.
• Manage day-to-day client relationships during fieldwork, including handling sensitive or difficult conversations with client staff.
• Take ownership of engagement economics at the field level, tracking actual hours against budget and flagging scope or fee issues early.
• Actively develop junior staff through structured feedback, on-the-job training, and performance input for appraisals.
• Assist the Manager/Supervisor in finalizing the audit file, clearing review notes, and preparing draft financial statements and audit reports.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in Zakat and Tax.
• Demonstrated ability to manage engagement fieldwork and timelines effectively.
• Strong technical knowledge in Zakat and Tax regulations and methodologies.

Required Skills

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interaction.
• Proficiency in reviewing working papers and ensuring compliance.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback and contribute to staff development.
