General Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented General Accountant to join our finance team, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, along with 35 years of experience in general accounting and proficiency in accounting software.

Key responsibilities include:
• Preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and maintaining the general ledger
• Processing accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments and customer invoicing
• Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Creating financial statements and reports for management review
• Participating in audit preparations and working with external auditors
• Managing fixed assets and depreciation schedules
• Analyzing financial data and identifying trends or discrepancies
• Supporting budget preparation and forecasting activities
• Ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures

We are looking for an Accountant, with 2 to 4 years of experience, to join our team in Saudi Arabia. This role involves supporting various financial and accounting activities, participating in month-end processes, maintaining accuracy in general ledger accounts, and ensuring reconciliation, interacting with customers and suppliers, following-up on overdue payments, prepare export documentation, and ensure compliance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Involvement in all month end processes

·       Maintenance of General Ledger Accounts and ensuring reconciliation and accuracy of information

·       Liaising with customers and suppliers

·       Making supplier payments                         

·       Monitoring Fixed Assets register including depreciation, addition and disposal

·       Monitoring Advances (suppliers and employees)

·       Following up on customers’ invoicing and handling the overdue payments

·       Preparing and monitoring export shipments’ documents and ensuring that proper pricing and documents and in place

·       Performing monthly Intercompany reconciliation

·       Handling and monitoring all Petty Cash transactions

·       Performing monthly Bank Reconciliations and weekly Cash Position Report

·       Assist in the preparation of Monthly Payroll and Transfers and its necessary accounting

·       Processing of any other accounts’ documents

·       Checking of contract / legal documents

·       Other ad hoc duties required by the department

Job Requirements:

·       Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Accounting / ACCA / Similar qualifications is an advantage          

·       24 years of previous experience in the same industry / financial accounting

·       Relevant certification is a plus (CPA/ CA/CMA/ACCA)

·       Solid knowledge of GAAP, IAS and IFRS                                

·       Clear understanding of Operating country VAT laws, VAT registration and implementation (practical experience)
