About the Role
As a Chief Accountant at Haji Abdullah Alireza & Co., you will play a critical role in overseeing complex accounting activities, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead financial operations, contribute to strategic decision-making, and enhance the efficiency of financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate financial statements and ensure compliance with IFRS standards.
Perform account reconciliations and manage month-end/year-end closing activities.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Coordinate with external and internal auditors and support audit processes.
Mentor junior accounting staff and support their development.
Conduct financial analysis to aid strategic decision-making.
Monitor internal controls and ensure compliance with laws.
Ensure compliance with VAT and Zakat laws and prepare/review return filings.

Qualifications:

Proficient in IFRS with experience in preparing consolidated financial statements.
Effective communication skills in English with the ability to present financial information clearly.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
More than 7 years of experience required.
Active SOCPA membership is a must; CPA membership preferred.
Exposure to Odoo ERP is a plus.
