About the Role
As a Chief Accountant at Haji Abdullah Alireza & Co., you will play a critical role in overseeing complex accounting activities, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead financial operations, contribute to strategic decision-making, and enhance the efficiency of financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate financial statements and ensure compliance with IFRS standards.
  • Perform account reconciliations and manage month-end/year-end closing activities.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Coordinate with external and internal auditors and support audit processes.
  • Mentor junior accounting staff and support their development.
  • Conduct financial analysis to aid strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor internal controls and ensure compliance with laws.
  • Ensure compliance with VAT and Zakat laws and prepare/review return filings.

Qualifications:
  • Proficient in IFRS with experience in preparing consolidated financial statements.
  • Effective communication skills in English with the ability to present financial information clearly.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • More than 7 years of experience required.
  • Active SOCPA membership is a must; CPA membership preferred.
  • Exposure to Odoo ERP is a plus.

  • Computer literacy and familiarity with Opera, Micros, FBM, and SUN System.
