Image Researcher AI Training (Arabic)

About the Role

Braintrust is seeking an Image Researcher for AI Training to contribute to the development of AI systems. This full-time role involves creating visual challenges that evaluate how AI systems research and interpret real-world images. The position is based in Saudi Arabia and requires combining local cultural knowledge with web research and basic image editing to develop clear, evidence-backed evaluation tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Source authentic images of real-world places, products, and media from the assigned locale, ensuring proper documentation of source and usage permissions.
• Investigate image subjects using various reliable sources, including Google Search, Google Lens, and reverse image search.
• Perform basic image editing tasks such as cropping, masking, or obscuring identifying details while maintaining realistic visual clues.
• Write clear, time-bound prompts in English without revealing the target identity or answer.
• Develop concise, objective grading criteria and solution notes that explain the correct answer, supporting evidence, and research process.
• Organize work in shared Google Drive folders, adhering to specified file names and submission structures.

Qualifications and Experience

• 1+ years of relevant experience.
• Native or highly fluent Arabic language skills, coupled with strong working English proficiency.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in any field.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Arabic-speaking cultures, including less-touristy landmarks, universities, municipal buildings, and domestic film and media.
• Confidence in researching from partial visual clues and cross-referencing information across multiple sources.
• Basic image-editing skills, including cropping and masking, and the ability to verify and document image usage permissions.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and adherence to structured guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in AI evaluation, data annotation, content review, quality assurance, or similar analytical work is beneficial but not mandatory for this role.

Project Details

This is a freelance project for contributors based in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, or Egypt. The role requires availability of 20 hours per week (part-time) or 40 hours per week (full-time), including at least four hours that overlap with Pacific business hours.
