Position Overview: Production Shift Manager, General Assembly

The Production Shift Manager for General Assembly is responsible for overseeing shift-based production operations within the GA shop. This full-time role involves ensuring the daily achievement of planned volume, safety, and quality targets. The manager provides direct leadership to production supervisors and shop floor teams, focusing on execution discipline, operational efficiency, and workforce performance. This position is accountable for meeting production KPIs, maintaining a safe working environment, and ensuring consistent product quality during both launch and steady-state operations. A minimum of 5-10 years of experience is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily production operations to achieve planned volume targets and production schedules.
• Ensure consistent delivery of Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery (SQCD) objectives.
• Monitor shift performance and implement immediate actions to address deviations from the plan.
• Ensure production processes adhere to defined standards and work instructions.
• Manage all Production Supervisors and shop floor personnel within the assigned shift, driving accountability for performance and adherence to operational standards.
• Ensure proper staffing, skill coverage, and shift resource allocation.
• Support the development and coaching of supervisors and operators to build a high-performing team.
• Ensure strict adherence to all safety standards, policies, and procedures, promoting a strong safety culture and mitigating risks.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure production output meets defined quality standards and customer expectations, supporting containment and resolution of quality issues.
• Enforce standardized work and process discipline to prevent defects.
• Lead immediate responses to production issues, including line stoppages and bottlenecks, coordinating cross-functional support.
• Utilize structured problem-solving approaches to address recurring operational challenges.
• Monitor and report production KPIs, including throughput, efficiency, downtime, and scrap, identifying performance gaps and implementing corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and process stability.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Process Engineering, Quality, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Escalate issues impacting production readiness and support cross-functional resolution.
• Support launch activities, ramp-up phases, and production readiness reviews.

Experience and Qualifications

• 8-10 years of experience in a relevant production leadership role.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage production operations to achieve targets.
• Experience in driving execution discipline and operational efficiency.
• Proficiency in monitoring KPIs and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong understanding of safety, quality, cost, and delivery objectives in a manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position within Lucid Motors' manufacturing facilities. The role requires direct leadership on the shop floor, collaborating with various cross-functional teams to ensure seamless production operations.
