About the Advanced Process Control Engineer Role

ANDRITZ is seeking a skilled Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer to join its team in Jubail, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position focuses on supporting the delivery of advanced automation and digitalization solutions across complex industrial environments. The role involves optimizing customer operations through the design and application of advanced process control technologies, including model predictive control, real-time optimization (RTO), data analytics, and digital twins.

Key Responsibilities

The Advanced Process Control Engineer will play a key role in evaluating process performance, developing and implementing control strategies, and supporting commissioning and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include ensuring alignment with technical standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations. Specific duties involve:

Evaluating operating processes to identify opportunities for optimization, efficiency gains, and variability reduction.
Designing and implementing advanced process control (APC) solutions, including control strategies and optimization applications.
Developing and validating dynamic process models using plant data and first-principles simulation techniques.
Configuring and tuning multivariable predictive controllers and associated control parameters.
Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting engineering and operational data to support model development and optimization strategies.
Collaborating with control room operators, process engineers, and instrumentation teams to complete commissioning and control response testing.
Providing commissioning, start-up, and troubleshooting support for deployed APC applications.
Executing simulation and acceptance testing for large-scale optimization projects to ensure system performance and reliability.
Monitoring application performance and recommending continuous improvements to sustain optimization benefits over time.
Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, including control strategies, test plans, and commissioning reports.
Supporting proposal development and identifying opportunities for expanded automation and digitalization solutions.

Candidate Profile and Experience

This position is suitable for a technically strong engineer with 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic project environments and is focused on driving measurable performance improvements. Strong problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively to team objectives.
