About the HSE Officer Role at WSP

WSP is seeking a HSE Officer to join our team in Al Jubail. This full-time position is dedicated to supporting the implementation and monitoring of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements across significant water transmission and pipeline infrastructure projects.

Role Purpose and Project Scope

The primary objective of this role is to assist in maintaining a safe working environment on project sites. The HSE Officer will ensure strict compliance with established project procedures, relevant regulatory requirements, and client HSE standards throughout all phases of water transmission and pipeline infrastructure developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections to ensure adherence to HSE requirements and safe work practices.
• Monitor various construction activities, including excavation, trenching, pipe laying, lifting operations, and confined space works.
• Identify unsafe acts and conditions, ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions.
• Support the execution of project HSE plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns for all site personnel.
• Monitor the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce site safety requirements.
• Report, record, and assist in the investigation of incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
• Maintain comprehensive HSE documentation, including inspection records, permits, and compliance reports.
• Participate in emergency response drills and support overall emergency preparedness activities.
• Monitor environmental controls related to waste management, dust suppression, noise control, and pollution prevention.
• Liaise effectively with contractors, supervisors, and project teams to foster a positive safety culture.

Required Experience

Candidates for this HSE Officer position should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in health, safety, and environmental roles, preferably within infrastructure or construction projects.

Work Location and Type

This is a full-time position based in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working directly on project sites to ensure continuous HSE oversight and compliance.
