Instrument Technician

About the Role

Eram Talent is seeking an Instrument Technician to join one of their prestigious petrochemical clients in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing critical plant instrumentation to ensure safe and reliable refinery operations.

Role Overview

The Instrument Technician will be responsible for the upkeep of various plant instrumentation systems, including electronic, pneumatic, and safety-critical components. The primary objective is to ensure the operational integrity and safety of the refinery through diligent maintenance and repair work.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to plant safety standards, identify potential hazards, and execute preventive maintenance (PM) procedures.
• Maintain clean work areas and ensure proper care of workshop tools.
• Diagnose and repair issues related to pneumatic and electronic instruments.
• Overhaul control valves, controllers, Rosemount smart transmitters, boilers, and furnaces.
• Calibrate plant equipment in accordance with ISO standards.
• Tune field controllers and PID settings.
• Service analytical instruments, including O2, CO, CO2, pH, and conductivity meters.
• Test safety-critical devices, Emergency Shutdown (ESD) interlocks, turbine/compressor instrumentation, Bently Nevada monitoring systems, and fire/flame detection systems.
• Read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and instrument loop drawings.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: A 2-year Technical Diploma or an Industrial Trade Training Certificate from a recognized institution is required.
• Experience: 6 to 8 years of hands-on work experience as an Instrument Technician in a refinery or petrochemical plant. The total experience required for this role is between 5-10 years.
• Documentation: An experience certificate from a process or construction company is necessary.
