About the Cost Accountant Role

Abdullah A. Al-Barrak & Son Co. (ABIS) is seeking a Cost Accountant specializing in Costing & Budgeting to join its finance department. This full-time position is based in Al Jubail, Eastern Province, and is central to supporting the company's financial planning and decision-making processes.

Role Purpose and Contribution

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for managing budgeting processes, meticulously analyzing cost data, and delivering accurate cost reports. This role plays a key part in tracking project costs, ensuring adherence to approved budgets, and identifying opportunities for cost savings across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze cost reports, budgets, and financial forecasts.
• Monitor and control project costs to ensure compliance with approved budgets.
• Develop and maintain the organization's cost accounting system, documents, and records.
• Analyze costs and recommend potential cost savings initiatives.
• Conduct and complete internal cost audits.
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
• Analyze collected data and maintain detailed records of results.
• Assess the cost impact of changes in goods or services provided.
• Prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual costs.
• Develop estimates for new and proposed costs.
• Provide management with reports detailing factors affecting product or service prices and profitability.
• Assist in external audits and general ledger preparation.
• Conduct physical inventories and oversee the cycle count program.

Required Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in cost accounting, with a focus on costing and budgeting.

Location and Employment Type

This is a full-time position located in Al Jubail, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia.
