Role Overview: Lead Planner Turnaround

Air Products is seeking a Lead Planner Turnaround to join its team in Al Jubail, Eastern region. This full-time position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and preparing all maintenance, inspection, repair, and modification activities for various assets within BHIG, including SATORP, SASREF, and Jubail Industrial Gases Hub (JIGH). The role reports directly to the Project Controls Manager within the Operation Project Management Team. The Lead Planner TAR will focus on developing and implementing Turnaround plans to maintain equipment integrity and plant reliability at the lowest sustainable cost, consistent with the facility’s asset management plan.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate the development, execution, and management of SATORP/SASREF/JIGH Turnarounds ranging from $5M to $50M.
Coordinate the development, planning, and execution of diverse brownfield projects ranging from $25K to $5M plant improvements.
Work with cross-functional teams through all Turnaround/Project phases, including scope development, technical bid evaluation, and final handover to operations.
Support the Project Controls Manager in developing and implementing strategic Turnaround/Project execution plans, ensuring alignment with BHIG's goals.
Utilize advanced project management tools to monitor progress, manage budgets, and adhere to schedules.
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure compliance with safety regulations and BHIG's zero-injury objective.
Negotiate contracts and resolve disputes throughout project lifecycles.
Conduct thorough project evaluations and "lessons learned" sessions to drive operational excellence.
Ensure all activities comply with company HSE standards and statutory regulations, actively leading and supporting BHIG safety programs.
Prepare KPIs for quality compliance for all Turnarounds under BHIG and review quality plans with other discipline leads.
Support the planning team in overseeing and maintaining enterprise management tools such as Primavera P3, P6, and MS Project.
Develop detailed work scopes and job plans for Turnaround activities, including work packages, procedures, and material take-offs.
Estimate labor, equipment, tools, and material requirements, ensuring procurement and availability before execution.
Assist in developing Turnaround budgets and cost estimates, monitoring planning-related costs.
Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from scope development to commissioning, ensuring safe execution.
Communicate project strategies and status to all stakeholders, including upper management.
Oversee project documentation, ensuring all necessary records are maintained and updated.
Utilize ERP systems (preferably SAP) and project management tools effectively.

Qualifications and Requirements

Engineering or other technical graduate degrees (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical).
8-12 years of experience in industrial gases, oil and gas, and/or petrochemical industry.
ERP (SAP) project development and implementation experience is preferred.
Proven track record in project execution, engineering management, or construction management within the chemical, oil and gas, or petrochemical industry.
Experience in a multi-national company with excellent EHS performance/culture is highly desirable.
Must be a self-starter with Turnaround/brownfield project management experience, capable of independent work and coordinating efforts among support and leadership resources.
Demonstrates high ethical standards, organizational credibility, and a basic understanding of process technologies employed in BHIG facilities.
Able to handle high-level communication with customers and internal/external stakeholders.

Required Skills

Strong organizational and Turnaround management skills, with experience in Primavera, Microsoft Project, or other Project/TAR Management tools.
Practical industrial field experience with strong leadership and communication skills.
Hands-on and proactive approach with clear accountability in steering Turnaround execution safely and consistent with BHIG requirements.
Experience working in an international or multi-national organization, with an appreciation for international cultures. Exposure to matrix reporting is preferred.
Business and customer service focus with a passion for quality.
Critical thinking skills and the ability to build trust and confidence with frontline workers, supervisors, and management.
