IB French Teacher

About the Role

مدارس المجموعة العالمية (ISG) in Al Jubail and Al Khobar, Eastern Region, is seeking an IB French Teacher. This full-time role involves developing linguistic fluency, cultural understanding, and global awareness in middle and high school students within the IB Diploma Programme framework. The position requires 2-5 years of experience and focuses on fostering intellectual curiosity and critical thinking through language.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate commitment to child protection and student safety.
• Embed learning language, learning about language, and learning through language to develop fluency and cultural understanding.
• Design inquiry-based experiences connecting language learning to real-world issues and interdisciplinary concepts.
• Plan and deliver lessons in accordance with curriculum goals and objectives.
• Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required documentation.
• Evaluate and grade student classwork and assignments.
• Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
• Provide extra help to students with coursework outside of class hours.
• Observe, monitor, and record student progress.
• Respond appropriately to the diverse individual needs and abilities within the class.
• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
• Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, materials, and instructional methods.
• Stay informed of developments in the field through literature, colleagues, and professional conferences.
• Collaborate with colleagues on teaching and research issues.
• Serve on academic or administrative committees dealing with institutional policies and departmental matters.
• Provide supervision for student after-school activities or coach/assistant coach athletic teams.
• Maintain a safe learning environment for students and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal and/or assistant principal.

Specific Responsibilities for IB French

• Deliver IB French instruction according to the IBDP course guide and best practices.
• Scaffold students' construction of their own understanding of linguistic concepts.
• Create an environment where students actively engage in language learning.
• Develop and foster interdisciplinary connections to language learning.
• Advocate for high school students, high school learning, and the high school program.
• Contribute to the creation and revision of the French curriculum.
• Share interests and passions with students through the after-school program.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience: 2-5 years in a relevant teaching role.
• Understanding of the developmental needs of middle and high school students.
• Ability to contribute actively to the wider school community.
• Demonstrated creativity in teaching methods.
