IB Spanish and World Language Teacher

About the Role

ISG Jubail is seeking an IB Spanish and World Language Teacher to join their team in the Eastern region, specifically in Al Jubail or Al Khobar. This full-time role focuses on developing linguistic fluency, cultural understanding, and global awareness in students. The ideal candidate will foster intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and meaningful communication within the framework of the IB Diploma Programme and modern language standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate commitment to child protection and the safety of children and young people.
• Embed a philosophy of learning language, learning about language, and learning through language to enhance fluency, cultural understanding, and critical thinking.
• Design inquiry-based experiences that connect language learning to real-world issues and interdisciplinary concepts.
• Plan and deliver lessons in accordance with established curriculum goals and objectives.
• Maintain accurate student attendance records, grades, and other required documentation.
• Evaluate and grade student classwork and assignments, and administer examinations.
• Provide additional support to students requiring assistance with coursework outside of class.
• Observe, monitor, and record student progress, responding to individual needs and abilities.
• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions effectively.
• Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, materials, and instructional methods.
• Stay informed of developments in the field through literature, peer collaboration, and professional conferences.
• Collaborate with colleagues on teaching and research matters.
• Contribute to academic or administrative committees addressing institutional policies and departmental issues.
• Supervise student after-school activities or coach/assistant coach athletic teams.
• Maintain a safe learning environment for students and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal and/or assistant principal.

Specific Responsibilities for IB Spanish / World Languages

• Deliver IB Spanish instruction aligned with the IBDP course guide and best practices.
• Support students in constructing their understanding of linguistic and cultural concepts.
• Create an environment that encourages student agency in language learning.
• Develop and foster interdisciplinary connections within language learning.
• Act as an advocate for high school students, learning, and programs.
• Contribute to the creation and revision of the language curriculum.
• Share interests and passions with students through after-school programs.
