About the Opportunity

Wood is seeking a TPE V / Principal Piping Engineer to join our project team in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position designed for an experienced professional to contribute to major projects.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Principal Piping Engineer will serve as a discipline expert, applying advanced engineering knowledge to design, analysis, and problem-solving within the piping field. This role requires the ability to work unsupervised on most aspects of work, providing significant technical guidance and ensuring the application of theory in practical contexts.

Key Engineering Responsibilities

• Act as an expert in piping layout and material specifications.
• Apply stress analysis knowledge and proficiently use relevant software and calculation templates.
• Comprehend and interpret technical information applicable to the engineering discipline.
• Perform all conventional aspects of design engineering and analysis, acting as a document originator.
• Create and review designs, drawings, specifications, and other engineering deliverables for both existing and new technology applications.
• Establish detailed designs and performance specifications to fulfill project requirements.
• Develop a range of engineering deliverables, including specifications, calculations, reports, and technical requisitions.
• Interpret specifications, investigate difficulties, and review vendor documents.
• Actively participate in design reviews and provide technical input and support to proposals as required.

Advanced Technical Application

• Address problems involving new concepts and varied issues that demand technical expertise, increased innovations, or considerable modifications of precedents.
• Conduct problem-solving in the area of expertise, addressing new concepts and varied problems that demand investigation and interpretation.
• Develop alternative solutions, identifying associated risks and benefits.
• Develop solutions to non-recurring problems by appraising, interpreting, and evaluating various precedents and data.
• Exercise professional judgment in selecting and interpreting information and modifying standard methods and procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated experience of 5 to 10 years in major projects.
• Proven experience working within an S3D/E3D environment.
• Ability to evaluate, select, and adapt standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks.
• Fully qualified to execute most standard and straightforward engineering activities, working unsupervised on most aspects of work.

Professional Conduct and Project Accountability

• Utilize strong communication skills and exhibit a positive attitude, collaborative spirit, and issue-resolving capabilities.
• Responsible for meeting discipline cost and schedule requirements in the production of deliverables.
• Coordinate own work schedule, prepare progress reports, and recommend changes in plans and estimated cost when necessary.
• In consultancy business areas, may deliver small-scale projects with responsibility for cost, schedule, resource allocation, and risk, working within an established program management plan.
