The Opportunity

Baker Hughes is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to join its team in Dammam, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves leading and overseeing mechanical activities within the workshop environment. The position requires candidates to have 5-10 years of relevant experience in mechanical supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate teams of technicians and sub-contractors daily, delegating work to ensure targets are identified, achieved, and tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
• Oversee mechanical activities in the workshop, providing day-to-day supervision and monitoring of ongoing work.
• Supervise and coordinate workshop teams and sub-contractors, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to required safety and quality standards.
• Allocate work and ensure its completion in accordance with the project schedule.
• Conduct daily checks on all plant and equipment to ensure optimum operational efficiency.
• Create, allocate, and control shift requirements for all teams and sub-contractors, maintaining relevant records.
• Assist teams in resolving issues and provide cover for other supervisors as required.
• Ensure that teams and sub-contractors meet deadlines with due care and without undue delay.
• Be directly accountable for the day-to-day requirements of project stakeholders.
• Stay informed about new products and improved working methods that can enhance quality and reduce costs.
• Complete project documentation and reports accurately and concisely.
• Identify corrective actions and implement countermeasures to maximize productivity.
• Manage all aspects of plant and equipment, including hires, off-hires, breakdowns, corrective actions, and countermeasures.
• Ensure relevant materials and consumables are identified, sourced, and delivered promptly to minimize project disruptions, maintaining records and controlling stock.
• Maintain effective health and safety systems, including the completion of risk assessments, method statements, and toolbox talks.
• Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
• Charge hours to projects according to manpower utilized.

Required Experience and Skills

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a mechanical supervision role or similar.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage technical teams and sub-contractors effectively.
• Proven capability in overseeing workshop mechanical operations and ensuring adherence to schedules and standards.
• Strong understanding and practical application of health, safety, and quality requirements in a workshop environment.
• Proficiency in completing accurate project documentation and reports.
• Ability to work consistently within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
