About the Opportunity

Matar Al-Baqami Holding is seeking a Planning Engineer to join their team in Dammam, Eastern Province. This full-time role is central to managing production planning, scheduling, and coordination of manufacturing activities, specifically for HVAC coil products. The ideal candidate will bring 5-10 years of relevant experience to ensure operational efficiency and timely delivery within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Role Purpose and Product Focus

The Planning Engineer is responsible for ensuring optimal use of resources, facilitating on-time delivery, and aligning processes across sales, procurement, and production teams. This position focuses on the manufacturing of HVAC coil products, including chilled water coils, condenser coils, and evaporator coils, to meet production targets and customer demands effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on sales orders and forecasts.
  • Create detailed production schedules for coil manufacturing processes such as fin pressing, tube expansion, brazing, and testing.
  • Ensure efficient machine loading and optimal manpower utilization.
  • Adjust production plans in response to priority orders, unforeseen delays, or material shortages.
  • Analyze Bill of Materials (BOM) for HVAC coils and coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials, including copper tubes, aluminum fins, and headers.
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstocking or shortages, and track lead times to update planning parameters accordingly.
  • Liaise with the sales team regarding order priorities and delivery commitments, and coordinate with production supervisors to ensure adherence to schedules.
  • Work closely with procurement, quality, and logistics teams, providing regular updates on production status and any potential delays.

Performance Monitoring and Process Improvement

This role involves continuous evaluation and enhancement of manufacturing processes. The Planning Engineer will evaluate production capacity against demand, identify bottlenecks in coil manufacturing processes, and recommend solutions such as overtime, outsourcing, or process improvements. Responsibilities also include supporting expansion planning and equipment utilization analysis, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) like On-time Delivery (OTD), Production Efficiency, and Plan vs. Actual Output. The engineer will prepare daily, weekly, and monthly planning reports, analyze deviations, implement corrective actions, identify inefficiencies in planning and production workflows, support lean manufacturing initiatives, and work to improve scheduling accuracy and reduce lead times.

System Management and Documentation

The Planning Engineer will participate in ERP/MRP system improvements and maintain accurate planning data within the ERP system. This includes updating routings, work centers, and production parameters to ensure data integrity. Ensuring proper documentation of all production plans and revisions is also a critical aspect of this position to maintain clear records and facilitate future planning.

Candidate Profile

Candidates for this full-time Planning Engineer position should possess 5-10 years of experience in production planning and scheduling, preferably within a manufacturing environment dealing with HVAC or similar products. The role requires strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple departments to achieve production goals and maintain operational excellence.
