About the Role

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (GCP) to join our team in Dammam, Eastern Region. This full-time role focuses on designing, building, and supporting enterprise-scale Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments. The ideal candidate is a hands-on cloud engineer with strong expertise in infrastructure automation, cloud platform engineering, and DevOps, committed to delivering secure, scalable, and highly automated cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise-scale Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.
• Build secure and scalable cloud landing zones using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules following best engineering practices.
• Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform automation.
• Support cloud migration and application modernization initiatives.
• Implement cloud networking, IAM, security, and governance best practices.
• Deploy, configure, and support Kubernetes (GKE) environments.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver scalable, cloud-native solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud platform issues and provide technical guidance.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation.

Core Technical Expertise

The role requires deep technical proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and related cloud technologies. Candidates should demonstrate strong capabilities in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) for building secure and scalable cloud landing zones, including the development of reusable modules. Expertise in designing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines for automation, alongside experience with Kubernetes (GKE) environments, is essential. A solid understanding of cloud networking, Identity and Access Management (IAM), security, and governance best practices is also critical.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5 to 10 years of experience as a Cloud Platform Engineer, with a significant focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This includes a proven track record in infrastructure automation, cloud platform engineering, and DevOps methodologies. A background in supporting cloud migration and application modernization initiatives is also valued.

Collaborative Environment

This role involves close collaboration with various engineering teams to deliver robust, cloud-native solutions. The Senior Cloud Platform Engineer will be responsible for providing technical guidance, troubleshooting complex cloud platform issues, and ensuring comprehensive technical documentation is produced and maintained to support ongoing operations and knowledge sharing.
