About the Role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Chef de Partie to join our culinary team in Dammam. This full-time position requires a dedicated professional with 5-10 years of experience in food preparation and kitchen operations.

Core Responsibilities

The Chef de Partie will be responsible for preparing a variety of dishes, ensuring adherence to established quality and presentation standards. This includes managing ingredients, regulating cooking equipment, and maintaining accurate food records. The role also involves communicating effectively with team members regarding menu availability and assisting in managing kitchen operations to meet guest expectations.

Key Duties and Tasks

  • Prepare special meals and substitute ingredients as needed for company menus.
  • Operate and regulate cooking equipment such as ovens, ranges, and roasters.
  • Manage the thawing of food items from the freezer to the refrigerator.
  • Ensure accuracy in food portioning, distribution, and presentation.
  • Maintain records and accounts related to food inventory and usage.
  • Control the quality and quantity of food items to be ordered.
  • Communicate needs for assistance during peak service periods.
  • Inform the head chef of any excess products suitable for daily specials.
  • Notify service staff of all available menu items.
  • Uphold the quality standards of all products served.
  • Prepare and cook food items in accordance with recipes, quality standards, and checklists.
  • Prepare cold food stations.

Team and Operational Support

This role involves supporting management in various aspects of team leadership, including training and motivation. The Chef de Partie is expected to act as a role model, adhere to all company policies and safety procedures, and report any accidents or unsafe conditions. Maintaining a professional appearance and protecting company assets are also key aspects of this position. Proactive anticipation of guest needs and clear communication with colleagues are essential for achieving team objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Technical, trade, or vocational school degree.
  • A minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
  • No supervisory experience is required for this role.

Physical Requirements

The position requires the ability to perform tasks that involve standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods. Candidates must be able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. The role also involves moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing 25 pounds or less without assistance. Performing other reasonably requested job duties by supervisors is also expected.
