The Role: Field Service Technician

Vallourec is seeking a Field Service Technician to join its team in Dammam, Eastern Region, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position requiring over 10 years of experience. The Field Service Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of tubular connections and related services at customer sites, both onshore and at rig locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Job Card required tasks such as OCTG Pipe preparation, visual thread inspection, VAM connections make-up supervision, pipe handling supervision, and accessories inspections onshore or at rig sites.
  • Conduct VAM Field Service inspection services as per VAM Field Service Procedures, VAM running book, and customer site-specific instructions.
  • Prepare and issue customer inspection reports in a timely manner.
  • Update the VAM Field service online database with job report data.
  • Obtain signed service field tickets from operations.
  • Conduct business in compliance with all company policies, including code of conduct & ethics, safety, environment, and travel & expenses.
  • Ensure quality of service work leading to customer satisfaction.
  • Respond to technical questions on VAM Connections.
  • Exercise authority to accept or reject connections and/or make-up of joints at the rig.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in a field service role.
  • Proactive in requesting and completing competency assessments, including VFP Exams, and closing any identified gaps promptly.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with Oil & Gas customer drilling, casing, and completion departments, and the VAM Field service planning desk.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in report writing.
  • Good IT skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, internet, and email.
