The Role of First Team Physiologist

We are seeking a dedicated First Team Physiologist to join our full-time staff in Dammam. This role is central to monitoring, analyzing, and enhancing the physical and physiological performance of our players. The Physiologist will utilize scientific methods and advanced technologies to optimize player fitness, accelerate recovery processes, and mitigate injury risks, ensuring athletes consistently perform at their peak.

Core Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and interpret GPS, heart rate, and biometric data to monitor player workload and performance metrics.
• Develop and implement tailored conditioning programs, aligning them with tactical periodization and specific position demands.
• Design and manage recovery protocols, incorporating modalities such as cryotherapy and hydration, adjusting based on player readiness scores.
• Conduct comprehensive screenings and assessments to identify potential injury risks and implement proactive corrective strategies.
• Collaborate closely with the medical staff to support player rehabilitation processes and inform return-to-play decisions.
• Work with other club departments to ensure performance plans are aligned and contribute to a unified approach to athlete development.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in sports physiology, preferably within a professional team environment. This role requires a strong understanding of sports science principles, data analysis, and the application of physiological monitoring techniques. Candidates should demonstrate a proactive approach to player performance optimization and injury prevention.

Professional Engagement and Standards

• Implement and integrate emerging technologies and remain current with the latest research and advancements in sports science.
• Ensure adherence to best practices in data privacy, maintain high reporting standards, and travel with the team as required.
• Maintain continuous professional development (CPD) standards and provide support to the Head of Performance with additional duties as needed.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Dammam, Eastern Region, requiring regular presence at the club facilities and travel with the team for matches and training camps. The role involves working within a dynamic professional sports environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to elite athlete performance.
