About the Machinist Role

GE Vernova is seeking a skilled Machinist for a full-time position in Dammam, Eastern Province. This role is designed to develop a Machinist into a technical expert or a future mechanical lead within the shop. Duties are subject to change based on mentorship and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret part drawings and process prints accurately.
• Perform machining work efficiently with minimal to no supervision.
• Conduct run out checks on individual parts and rotating components such as generator and turbine rotors.
• Perform machining operations on stationary and rotating parts including bearings, oil seals, and shafts.
• Execute operations such as reaming, drilling, and tapping.
• Operate lathe machines and tip grinding machines independently.
• Perform various machining tasks including burnishing, skim cutting, patch ring application, aluminum/copper sleeve work, threading, and brazing.
• Utilize Accuscan machines for run out measurements.
• Operate Vertical Boring Mills (VBM).
• Train and coach other team members.
• Collaborate closely with supervisors and engineers to ensure efficient equipment operation.
• Use measurement instruments for checks and verification.
• Adhere to 5S Lean Principles (Sort, Stabilize, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), safety rules, and regulations.
• Perform other assigned duties as required.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess between 5 to 10 years of relevant experience as a Machinist. The ability to work independently and perform a wide range of machining tasks is essential. Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and operating various machining equipment is required.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and prints.
• Skilled in operating manual and potentially CNC machining equipment.
• Competence in performing precision measurements and checks.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and Lean manufacturing principles.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Capability to train and mentor junior staff.

Work Location and Type

This is a full-time position based in Dammam, located in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. The role requires on-site presence and adherence to the company's operational schedule.
