About the Maintenance/Engineering Technician Role

PepsiCo is seeking a Maintenance/Engineering Technician for a full-time position in Dammam, Eastern Province. This role involves executing assigned tasks and work orders related to mechanical maintenance, including corrective and preventive maintenance, and other engineering-related works in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner within specified timeframes. PepsiCo products are consumed over a billion times daily across more than 200 countries and territories, with a 2021 net revenue exceeding $79 billion, driven by a portfolio including LAY'S, DORITOS, CHEETOS, GATORADE, PEPSI, and QUAKER.

Key Responsibilities

The Maintenance/Engineering Technician will be responsible for:

  • Performing assigned work orders and other tasks as directed by the supervisor.
  • Identifying root causes of major and recurring problems.
  • Responding to technical problems within the assigned area, ensuring proper actions are identified and implemented.
  • Solving technical issues, identifying necessary actions and spare parts, with knowledge of spare parts description, availability, and critical spares.
  • Making decisions regarding the utilization of spare parts and necessary corrective and preventive actions for breakdowns.
  • Executing maintenance schedules and plans to maintain plant equipment according to engineering standards.
  • Achieving and maintaining line availability (Technical Efficiency) and equipment readiness.
  • Ensuring proper controls for all hazards and risks associated with activities and achieving EHS targets.
  • Operating equipment related to utility sections.
  • Supervising contracted labor during maintenance activities, adhering to safety and company standards.
  • Performing and reporting daily parameter readings and monitoring as assigned.
  • Identifying opportunities and supporting initiatives to improve production processes, quality, productivity, safety, or cost reduction in coordination with production personnel.
  • Supporting the execution of the site Maintenance and Reliability (M&R) Strategy to achieve World Class maintenance status.
  • Executing assigned actions related to the PepsiCo Maintenance Methodology (PEMM) tool and Maintenance Improvement Action Plan (MIAP).
  • Supporting the implementation of Reliability Engineering tools and techniques to achieve M&R KPIs.
  • Supporting the execution of Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives and Failure Analysis techniques, such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Attending Maintenance forum meetings to share performance data, best practices, challenges, and achievements.
  • Maintaining and implementing AIB standards.
  • Maintaining accurate SAP-PM records and updating all assigned Work Orders.
  • Adhering to Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) and Quality & Food Safety (QFS) policies and standards.
  • Implementing, sustaining, and participating in the continual improvement of the EHS Management System within the area of responsibility, ensuring proper controls for all hazards and risks and achieving EHS targets.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial experience.
  • Hands-on experience in mechanical equipment maintenance, including thermal and hydraulic machines, HVAC systems, and rotating and conveying mechanisms.
  • Hands-on experience in equipment troubleshooting.
  • Awareness of mechanical safety standards.
  • Knowledge of maintenance planning and execution systems.
  • Ability to read and understand plans, diagrams, layouts, and schematic drawings relevant to the field.
  • Knowledge in operating and automation systems.
  • Technical knowledge for refrigeration plant cooling systems, troubleshooting, and maintenance (specifically for AC technicians).
  • Knowledgeable in SAP system.
  • Ability to perform basic electro-mechanical works independently.
  • General knowledge and ability to use computers, including MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of Quality and Food Safety (QFS) systems and policies.
  • Basic awareness of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) systems and policies.
  • Good command of the English language (Reading, Writing, and Speaking).
  • Knowledge of any Maintenance Management software (CMMS) is preferred.
