About the Role

Qatar Airways is seeking a Senior Cargo Operations Agent to join their team in Dammam, Eastern Province. This full-time position involves managing cargo operations and customer service functions for both import and export cargo, ensuring compliance with safety and security regulations, and contributing to the station's cargo targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Support supervisors in developing operational plans to meet and exceed revenue targets through quality customer service.
• Liaise with Local Ground Handling Agents (GHA) and the Head Office Cargo Department to ensure high-quality service for import and export cargo.
• Oversee GHA routines to ensure smooth operational activities.
• Provide support to import customers for cargo clearance.
• Coordinate with HQ DOH and/or origin stations for necessary support.
• Manage flight planning to maximize aircraft capacity utilization, controlling export and import operations.
• Maintain close coordination between QR Space Control and customers, ensuring timely shipment transfers, deliveries, correct priority, and optimal aircraft space utilization.
• Handle discrepancies at stations and manage administrative issues related to stations, coordinating with customers and Cargo Claims representatives at Head Office.
• Disseminate cargo-related information to customers regarding customs, governmental, and health authority rules, and to Head Office to ensure compliance and avoid penalties.
• Ensure official notifications are sent regarding cargo arrival information to freight forwarders, agents, and direct customers to prevent prolonged cargo storage, avoid damages, and ensure warehouse space availability.

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant vocational, tertiary, or trade qualification.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of cargo operations, including acceptance, office administration, warehouse, ramp, and general export and import procedures.
• Proficiency in the English language.

Additional Advantage

Knowledge in Cargo Sales will be considered an added advantage for this role.
