About the Role

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Testing Supervisor to join our team in Dammam, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to ensuring product quality and operational efficiency within a lean and flow production line. The role focuses on achieving optimal quality, maximizing cost savings, and ensuring the shortest possible delivery times for products.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform assembly, repair, and routine tests (Mechanical, 10KV, HV, functional & resistance measurements) of GIS bays, including components and modules.
• Adhere strictly to prepared work instructions, drawings, bills of materials, checklists, guidelines, and customer order data during all testing procedures.
• Fulfill orders related to work packages according to production data and instructions.
• Conduct self-checks on work package results, accurately filling out and confirming assigned checklists and protocols.
• Adequately handle factory equipment and tools, maintain test equipment, and sustain proper continuous calibration.
• Carry out any tasks assigned by management necessary to fulfill job requirements.

Quality Control and Process Improvement

• Control the quality of GIS products and maintain the Test Report Database.
• Conduct quality control checks and immediately escalate any identified quality issues.
• Record deviations, support root cause analysis of failures, and write quality problems or non-conformance reports.
• Support the gathering of product improvement comments and feedback from GIS Local Service Center (LSC) engineers.
• Actively contribute to continuous improvement processes and foster a Lean culture within the production environment.
• Provide feedback, share ideas, and observations to enhance operational efficiency and quality.

Safety, Compliance, and Collaboration

• Independently follow all factory rules and guidelines related to safety, quality, environment, recycling, and housekeeping.
• Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to ABB-HSE guidelines and reporting any irregularities to superiors.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
• Actively support teamwork, communicate effectively, and collaborate with internal customers, stakeholders, and colleagues across assembly, testing, and logistics.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate for this Testing Supervisor position will possess 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant testing or manufacturing capacity. This experience should demonstrate a strong understanding of routine testing procedures, quality control, and process optimization within a production environment.
