The Role: Appian Technical Lead / Solution Architect

CodeNinja is seeking an Appian Technical Lead / Solution Architect to manage the end-to-end solution design and technical delivery of Appian applications for a prominent bank in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time, onsite position in Riyadh, open to all nationalities, requiring extensive hands-on Appian experience within a banking or regulated environment. The role requires over 10 years of total experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements (*, onboarding, lending, trade finance, complaints, KYC/AML case management) into Appian solution architecture, including data model, process design, security model, and integration patterns.
• Act as the Appian design authority, establishing coding standards, reusable component libraries, naming conventions, and design review gates.
• Define deployment architecture with infrastructure and security teams, covering self-managed or Appian Cloud, HA/DR, environments, and sizing.
• Design integration patterns with core banking, CRM, document management, ESB/API gateway, and identity providers (SAML/OIDC, LDAP/AD).
• Lead estimation, sprint planning, and technical backlog; contribute to presales and RFP responses.
• Manage non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, audit logging, data retention, and segregation of duties.
• Conduct code reviews, Appian Health Check remediation, and production-readiness sign-off.
• Represent the platform in architecture review boards, security assessments, and internal/external audits.
• Coach and develop the Appian team; drive adoption of new platform features like Data Fabric, Process HQ, and AI Skills.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 12+ years of total experience, with at least 7 years of hands-on Appian experience.
• Minimum of 3 years in an Appian lead or architect role.
• Appian Certified Lead Developer (mandatory).
• Notice period of 1 month, or immediate joiners preferred.

Required Skills and Expertise

• Deep expertise across Appian process models, records, interfaces (SAIL), expression rules, Data Fabric, and security groups.
• Solution architecture for enterprise BPM/low-code in a banking or regulated institution.
• Integration design: REST/SOAP, Connected Systems, Web APIs, messaging (Kafka/MQ), and file-based integrations.
• Strong RDBMS knowledge (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MariaDB).
• Appian deployment, DevOps, and release management (compare-and-deploy, CI/CD, version control).
• Awareness of banking regulation and controls (SAMA, NCA ECC, PDPL).
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• TOGAF or a cloud architecture certification.
• Java plug-in development.
• Appian RPA.
• Saudi banking project experience.
• Arabic/RTL interface delivery.
