About the Role

Digitus Group is seeking a Chief Accountant to lead the accounting and financial operations for its business in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves overseeing daily financial operations, ensuring compliance with international accounting standards and Saudi regulations, and delivering accurate financial reporting. The position requires a candidate with strong leadership skills, technical accounting expertise, and a proactive approach to financial management.

Role Context and Objectives

The Chief Accountant will be responsible for strengthening financial controls, supporting financial planning, and providing management with meaningful financial insights. The role focuses on managing the full accounting cycle and ensuring the financial health and compliance of the KSA operations within a project-based business environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee daily accounting and financial operations for the KSA business.
  • Manage the full accounting cycle, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, fixed assets, accruals, provisions, and reconciliations.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, account analysis, and supporting schedules.
  • Oversee project accounting, job costing, cost allocation, and project financial performance.
  • Monitor project budgets, actual and committed costs, Work in Progress, unbilled revenue, retentions, and project profitability.
  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with IFRS and applicable contractual requirements.
  • Review project billing, progress invoices, variations, receivables, collections, supplier payments, and subcontractor-related transactions.
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor cash requirements, working capital, receivables, and project cash flow in coordination with Group Finance.
  • Ensure compliance with Saudi VAT, withholding tax, Zakat, ZATCA, e-invoicing, and other applicable statutory requirements.
  • Maintain effective financial controls and ensure transactions are properly supported, approved, and recorded.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors and ensure timely completion of audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with Projects, Operations, Commercial, Procurement, HR, and other departments on financial matters.
  • Provide management with clear financial analysis on costs, collections, project performance, and key financial risks.
  • Ensure effective use of ERP and accounting systems and identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting.
  • Lead, guide, and develop the local accounting team.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for accounting and financial matters within the KSA operation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5-10 years of experience in accounting, preferably within a project-based business.
  • Demonstrated technical accounting expertise.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience in managing accounting functions.
  • Ability to work closely with operational teams.
  • Proficiency in maintaining strong financial controls.
  • Capability to provide accurate and practical financial insights to support business performance.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, requiring a hands-on accounting leader who can integrate strong technical skills with an understanding of project-based business operations.
