About Bechtel Corporation and the Expo 2030 Riyadh Project

Bechtel Corporation is managing the infrastructure program for Expo 2030 Riyadh, a global platform scheduled from October 2030 to March 2031. This project, themed “Foresight for Tomorrow,” focuses on sustainable development and innovation, expecting over 40 million visits. The 6 km2 Masterplan includes early works, utilities, and public spaces, with the site transitioning into a mixed-use legacy development after the event. The project leverages international sustainability standards for urban afforestation, treated water, and energy sources.

Role Summary: Civil Engineer Design

As a Civil Engineer Design, you will be responsible for conducting design coordination and reviews for the civil/structural aspects of the Expo 2030 Riyadh project. This full-time position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, involves leading design, development, modification, evaluation, and constructability reviews of civil/structural components and processes. Your technical expertise will be critical in meeting the unique and complex requirements of the project's civil/structural elements.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of civil/structural engineering work for multidisciplinary projects, including reviewing original designs, layouts, details, drawings, and specifications for structures, buildings, and roadways.
• Participate in the design, development, and modification of Civil/Structural components and processes using relevant procedures, design standards, guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs), and Design Control Check Lists (DCCL).
• Coordinate work and collaborate with other engineering disciplines.
• Evaluate, select, and apply standard Civil/Structural engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, exercising independent judgment in adaptations and modifications.
• Check structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations and specifications.
• Analyze problems with conflicting design requirements, sketching ideas and possible solutions.
• Assist in preparing quantity take-offs for proposals, forecasts, and change orders.
• Prepare or assist in preparing conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals.
• Coordinate Civil/Structural engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendors, contractors, construction, and other functional groups.
• Provide technical assistance to other Civil/Structural personnel and interact with project functions and customers.
• Provide assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project Civil/Structural requirements and addressing issues during project execution.

Qualifications and Experience

• Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in civil engineering design.
• Demonstrated ability to lead design, development, modification, evaluation, and constructability reviews of civil/structural components.
• Proficiency in applying standard Civil/Structural engineering methods and procedures.
