About the Role

Raya Logistic Services is seeking a full-time ERPNext Developer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is focused on implementing, customizing, and maintaining the ERPNext platform across various business operations, including finance, procurement, inventory, manufacturing, HR, and sales. The successful candidate will be instrumental in building custom applications and integrating ERPNext with existing systems to ensure a stable, secure, and fast production environment.

Role Context and Scope

This position requires a developer who is proficient in both technical development and understanding business processes. The role involves writing clean Python and JavaScript code, as well as collaborating with business users to identify and resolve process inefficiencies. As part of a small IT team, the ERPNext Developer will own changes from requirement gathering through deployment and ongoing support, ensuring comprehensive management of the ERPNext platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build custom apps, DocTypes, child tables, workflows, dashboards, print formats, notifications, and web forms on the Frappe framework.
• Write server-side logic in Python and client-side behavior in JavaScript, including custom validations and automation.
• Develop reports using Report Builder, Query Report, and Script Report as appropriate.
• Configure role permissions, user permissions, and approval hierarchies, ensuring customizations are upgrade-safe.
• Gather requirements from business users, conduct gap-fit analysis, and translate outcomes into technical specifications.
• Configure and enhance modules such as Accounts, Buying, Selling & CRM, Stock, Manufacturing, Assets, Projects, HR & Payroll.
• Replace manual processes with workflows, scripts, and scheduled jobs.
• Execute data migration from legacy systems, including mapping, cleansing, bulk import, and reconciliation.
• Deliver user training and maintain end-user documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Build and consume REST APIs connecting ERPNext to external systems like banking portals, payment gateways, e-commerce, payroll, government e-invoicing platforms, and BI tools.
• Work across JSON/XML payloads, webhooks, and authentication schemes including OAuth, JWT, API keys, and SFTP-based file exchange.
• Diagnose integration failures, build appropriate retry and error handling, and keep interface documentation current.
• Provide L2/L3 application support: triage tickets, reproduce issues, resolve root causes, and contribute to incident reviews.
• Debug Python exceptions, JavaScript errors, failed background jobs, scheduler problems, and permission issues using relevant logs.
• Optimize slow reports and transactions through query tuning, indexing, and schema review in MariaDB/PostgreSQL.
• Maintain a working understanding of the ERPNext data model and the relationships between DocTypes.
• Manage bench-based development, staging, and production environments: site creation, app installation, version upgrades, patches, backups, and restores.
• Maintain the supporting stack including Linux, MariaDB, Redis, Nginx, Supervisor, ******, and background workers.
• Work in Git with a defined branching and release process; prepare deployment and rollback plans and participate in code review.
• Write tests using the Frappe testing framework and support user acceptance testing.
• Apply secure coding practices, protect sensitive financial, payroll, employee, and customer data; support audit and change-management requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on ERPNext / Frappe framework development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python; solid JavaScript (ES6), jQuery, HTML/CSS.
• Working knowledge of the Frappe framework: ORM, hooks, scheduled jobs, background workers, the permission model, and the workflow engine.
• Proficiency in MariaDB/PostgreSQL, including complex queries, joins, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Experience developing and integrating REST APIs.
• Familiarity with Linux command line and Git.
• Understanding of core business processes in at least two of: general ledger, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, inventory and warehousing, production planning, payroll, or asset management.
• Clear written and spoken communication skills in English with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• ERPNext / Frappe certification, or contributions to the ERPNext or Frappe open-source repositories.
• Experience building a Frappe custom app from scratch.
• Frappe UI / ***, or other modern JavaScript framework experience.
• Knowledge of ERPNext v15+ architecture.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Regional compliance experience: VAT configuration, e-invoicing mandates, payroll compliance, end-of-service benefit calculations.
• Experience with multi-company and multi-currency deployments.
• Familiarity with BI tooling connected to ERP data (Power BI, Metabase, Grafana).
