Engagement Manager Prototyping AI and Customer Engineering PACE EMEA

About the Role

AWS EMEA SARL (Saudi Arabia Branch) is seeking an Engagement Manager for the Prototyping AI and Customer Engineering (PACE) team. Based in Riyadh, this full-time role focuses on helping enterprises in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia transform ambitious ideas into working technology proofpoints on AWS. The position operates at the intersection of business strategy and emerging technology, identifying opportunities where generative AI, agentic systems, and cloud-native architectures can create significant customer value.

Role Responsibilities

• Build and pilot a pipeline of innovation opportunities across KSA and the GCC, collaborating with account teams, specialists, and partners to identify areas where generative AI and cloud-native architecture can unlock value.
• Rigorously qualify opportunities by asking critical questions to ensure a clear business outcome, committed customer, and defined path to production. Effectively invest resources and disqualify opportunities when appropriate.
• Scope engagements for success, working backward from customer outcomes to define clear, time-boxed prototypes with explicit success criteria.
• Drive engagements from kickoff to close, coordinating customer developers, AWS architects, and partners, mitigating risks, and ensuring each engagement concludes with demonstrated value and a concrete next step.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, guiding executives through generational technology shifts and enabling confident investment decisions.
• Scale successful approaches by packaging repeatable motions and sharing them across the global PACE community.
• Represent the customer internally, feeding engagement insights back into AWS service teams and product roadmaps.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will manage a pipeline of high-value innovation opportunities, build trust with C-suite and technical leaders, and create an environment for engineers to excel. This role requires the ability to thrive in ambiguity, help customers navigate generational technology shifts such as foundation models and intelligent automation, make crisp decisions, and move quickly. Candidates should be able to work backward from customer outcomes, insist on high standards in scoping and delivery, and innovate on behalf of customers.

Required Experience

This position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience. The role involves collaborating with hands-on Prototyping Architects to deliver multi-week engagements that de-risk transformation, prove new workloads, and accelerate customers' path to production.

Work Environment and Team

This position is based in Riyadh and supports customers across KSA and the wider GCC. The Engagement Manager will work closely with account teams, specialist organizations, and partners to drive workload adoption at the forefront of AWS capabilities. PACE (Prototyping AI and Customer Engineering) is AWS's hands-on customer innovation team, working directly with enterprise customers to transform ideas into working technology. The role is part of EMEA PACE and is supported by a worldwide community that shares patterns, tools, and lessons learned.

A Day in the Role

A typical day may involve assisting a customer's engineering team with a generative AI prototype, scoping a new engagement with a Saudi enterprise exploring agentic AI, reviewing the pipeline, updating qualifications, and planning resourcing with a Prototyping Architect. The role also includes meeting with customer CTOs to discuss production paths post-prototype and documenting repeatable patterns for the wider PACE team.
