Engineer Planning alfanar Building Systems

About the Role

Alfanar is seeking a Planning Engineer for its Building Systems division. Based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this full-time role is central to supporting large-scale real estate development projects. The Planning Engineer will manage day-to-day scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting cycles across multiple concurrent projects, working closely with site teams, project managers, and client-side planners to ensure schedules are accurate, credible, and actionable.

Core Responsibilities

The Planning Engineer is responsible for comprehensive project scheduling, progress tracking, and performance analysis. This includes developing and maintaining detailed project schedules, monitoring site progress, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met efficiently.

• Develop, structure, and maintain detailed project schedules in Primavera P6, encompassing civil, MEP, finishing, mobilization, and handover activities.
• Build and validate the Work Breakdown Structure, activity logic, durations, dependencies, and baseline revisions.
• Manage change control for baseline revisions, ensuring approved schedules align with the project execution strategy.
• Collect, verify, and update site progress data on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
• Prepare S-curves, look-ahead schedules, manpower/resource histograms, progress reports, and management dashboards.
• Perform schedule variance analysis, identify critical path shifts and delay causes, and recommend recovery actions.
• Track performance using Earned Value Management, including SPI, CPI, and forecast-at-completion trends.
• Coordinate with cost control to support cost/schedule integration and maintain a single source of truth for project status.
• Participate in progress meetings, follow up on actions, and align reporting formats with client and consultant requirements.

Required Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in planning and scheduling for large-scale real estate or building systems projects, demonstrating a strong command of Primavera P6 and project management principles.

This is a full-time position located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within Alfanar's Building Systems operations.
